Denise Wellbrock Ayers has an MFA from Clemson University and a BFA from Northern Kentucky University. Her work has been exhibited in places such as The Cincinnati Art Museum, Art Academy of Cincinnati, Manifest Gallery, and at the 10th Annual Drawing Discourse Exhibition in Asheville, NC. Denise has received multiple awards and scholarships during her undergrad and graduate studies and beyond as a practicing artist. Most recently Denise was honored with an Award of Excellence for her piece "A Tally per Blue Scar" as a part of the 2020 Artist of the Upstate Juried Exhibition. Denise teaches part-time (virtually) at Northern Kentucky University and is the Interim Assistant Director at the Museum of the Cherokee in Walhalla, SC. She currently resides in South Carolina with her husband and two cats.
